An unlikely but delicious side-dish for any holiday roast meal.
Ingredients:
- 3 x 14-ounce cans of sweet corn, drained
- 2 level tablespoons of flour
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup milk
- 4 cheese slices (we use American)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Paprika
Preparation Method:
- In a medium-sized saucepan, over medium heat, melt butter.
- Add flour and mix well.
- Slowly add milk, a little at a time, until the mixture is smooth.
- Add 4 cheese slices and mix until the cheese is melted.
- Add salt, cayenne pepper, and corn and mix well.
- Pour mixture into a casserole dish; Sprinkle paprika over the top for color.
- Bake in a 375°F oven. oven for 30 minutes or until the mixture is bubbly.
