Ingredients:
- 1 long loaf of crusty bread ripped into large chunks
- 6 large eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 4 teaspoons sugar
- 3/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon vanilla essence
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Powered cinnamon
Preparation Method:
- Butter a 13×9-inch pan and toss in the bread chunks until the bottom is completely covered.
- Beat the eggs in a large bowl. Add the milk, sugar, salt, and vanilla. Mix well. Pour the mixture over the sliced bread.
- Cover the pan with foil and refrigerate overnight or let sit for at least a couple of hours before baking.
- Heat the oven to 350 degrees.
- Remove foil and dot the top of the casserole with butter. Sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until bubbly and lightly browned.
- Let it stand for 5 minutes before serving.
