Oven Roasted Filet Mignon

An extravagant treat we enjoy for a special occasion.

Preparation Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F.
  2. Season tenderloin with salt and pepper on both sides.
  3. Place a large frying pan over high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter, and sear tenderloin on all sides.
  4. Place in an ovenproof dish. Cook it to the desired doneness. This should take about 30 to 40 minutes for medium rare. The exact time depends on the thickness of the tenderloin.
  5. Let the meat rest for 10 minutes before slicing. Delicious with Mashed Potatoes and mushroom gravy.
