• 1 package of frozen puff pastry sheets (2 sheets)
  • Granulated sugar
  • Salt

Preparation Method:

  1. Thaw pastry sheets at room temperature for 30 minutes. Preheat oven to 425F Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper
  2. Unfold pastry sheet on lightly sugared surface. Pinch seams together if separating. Sprinkle 1 /2 cup sugar over the sheet and scatter the salt evenly. Roll out the pastry until it measures about 10 inches square, gently pressing in the sugar as you do so.
  3. Starting at the short side fold each side of the pastry into the center. Fold the sides again into the center and then fold last one on top of the other and press gently together.
  4. Cut each rectangle into 12 ¾” slices. Place cut-side down 2” apart on baking sheets.
  5. Return to fridge for 10 minutes before baking
  6. Bake 8 minutes. Carefully turn over the Palmiers using a spatula and bake further 4 minutes until golden. Remove to cool on wire racks. Serve warm.

Palmiers can be frozen uncooked then baked from frozen.
