Ingredients:
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour (274 grams)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 8 ounces (2 sticks) of unsalted butter, softened (226 grams)
- 1 cup packed brown sugar (200 grams)
- 1/2 cup white sugar (100 grams)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon water
- 2 cups semi-sweet mini chocolate chips
- 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (if desired)
Preparation Method: Heat oven to 375 F degrees (190 Celsius)
- Put the flour, baking soda, and salt into a bowl and stir it with a whisk to combine and set aside.
- Using a hand or stand mixer, beat the butter until it is lighter in color.
- Slowly add sugars and beat until it is soft and fluffy for about 2 minutes.
- Add the eggs 1 at a time and beat until they are incorporated.
- Stir in the vanilla and water.
- Add the flour mixture at low speed, stirring the chocolate chips and nuts.
- Drop by heaping tablespoonfuls about 2 inches apart onto the prepared baking sheets.
- Bake until the cookies are lightly browned around the edges, about 9-10 minutes.
- Let the cookies cool for a few minutes and then transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.
