Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 8 ounces (2 sticks) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon water
  • 2 cups semi-sweet mini chocolate chips
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (if desired)

Preparation Method: Heat oven 375 degrees.

  1. Put the flour, baking soda, and salt into a bowl and stir it with a whisk to combine and set aside.
  2. Using a hand or stand mixer, beat the butter until it is lighter in color.
  3. Slowly add in sugars and beat until it is light and fluffy about 2 minutes.
  4. Add the eggs 1 at a time and beat until they are incorporated.
  5. Stir in the vanilla and water.
  6. Add the flour mixture using low speed, then stir in the chocolate chips and nuts.
  7. Drop by heaping tablespoonful’s about 2 inches apart onto the prepared baking sheets.
  8. Bake until the cookies are lightly browned around the edges, about 9-10 minutes.
  9. Let the cookies cool for a few minutes and then transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.
