7-Layer Salad

Ingredients:

  • 1 ½ heads iceberg lettuce torn into bite size pieces
  • ½ cup chopped celery
  • ½ cup chopped green pepper
  • ½ cup chopped scallions (or regular onions)
  • 6 ounces baby peas, cooked slightly and cooled
  • 1 ½ cups mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 6 pieces of cooked crispy bacon
  • 1 chopped tomato

Preparation Method:

  1. First layer the lettuce, then the celery, pepper, onion and peas.
  2. Combine mayonnaise with sugar.
  3. Place this mixture on top of layers.
  4. Cover mayonnaise with cheese, chopped bacon, sliced tomatoes.
  5. Let this salad sit in the fridge for at least 5 hours or overnight.
  6. Toss well before serving.
